EVAN JAMES ROTELLA
June 27, 2004 @ 8:29 pm
7 lbs, 3 oz & 21.5 inches

Well now on a summer night in a dusky room came a little piece of the Lord's undying light crying like he swallowed the fiery moon. In his mother's arms it was all the beauty I could take. Like the missing words to some prayer that I could never make. In a world so hard and dirty so fouled and confused... searching for a little bit of God's mercy I found living proof.

-- Bruce Springsteen

It's been 7 years, since the creation of EvanRotella.com Version 1.1 (an award winning site, I might add). The little guy is now in Grade 1, playing piano, guitar, playing hockey. ball hoceky and soccer and going to see Bruce Springsteen every time he's within driving range (he's seen him 8 times now)! Evan is the only 7 year old I know who's favorite singers include Joe Grushecky, Joe D'Urso, Willie Nile, Bruce Springsteen, Marah, Gaslight Anthem, Warren Zevon, Burton Cummings and KISS! Even before he was able to count to 10, Evan knew all the members of the E Street Band and The Houserockers! And as you can see Evan met Bruce Springsteen this year, thanks to our Houserocker friends!

He graduated from Grade 1 this year and is now heading into Grade 2. Wow!!  The little guy has done some travellin' in his 7 years - Dallas, NYC, Cleveland, Asbury Park, Boston, Pittsburgh, Italy twice, and Disney World twice to visit Mickey!  He's been on stage with The Boss, stood on the star in Irving Stadium, sat behind the Sabres bench, and eaten a Fenway Frank watching our beloved Red Sox beat the Royals on Manny's home run. He's hung with Joe D'Urso, Joe Grushecky and Willie Nile...as well, as meeting Mickey, Donald, Pluto, Captain Hook, Shrek, and more. Not bad for 7!

It's been 7 very, very fun years! "They" say that it goes by so fast...whoever "they" are, "they" are correct. It does. But it's a blast...every minute of it. EvanRotella.com Version 1.2 was created to showcase the fun as it happens! Watch as our little Pook-man takes on the last half of his first decade of life! I'm sure he'll do it with the same enthusiasm he had in the first 6!

Enjoy your seventh year, "Little Man"! Your Mommy and Daddy love you very much!! Keep smiling...you wear it well!
